The Joey Hour

This world has lost a gentle giant.

He was that guy everybody knew and loved - the easiest guy in the room to talk to. He was huge and strong and kind. He was unwavering in his love for his soulmate Crystal (my lifelong friend) and his incredible kids, Parker and Camdyn.

He seemed to be in his prime, when he left his life behind. He was successful, fun, healthy, and always surrounded by those who loved him.

It seems none of us knew what he was going through inside. He gave his all to this world, and he took so little for himself.

We wish he had taken just a bit more for himself, that he had asked for what he needed- that he had asked for help.

It seems that maybe asking for help was the one and only thing he did not completely excel at.

Because of him, and his generous nature, and because of his family’s commitment to pouring his love into the world, I would like to offer what I am calling a “Joey Hour”.

I am offering a free course of counseling (i.e., 1 hour per week) to someone, age 18 or older, in Iowa who might be struggling this same way - someone who might feel they need to be strong – someone who might be especially reluctant to ask for help.

If you see yourself in this description of Joey, please send me an email at christine@libertytherapyassociates.com and put "Joey Hour" in the subject line. If you know of someone who fits this description, please pass on my email address to them.

Once our course of therapy is complete, I will open up the Joey Hour again.

If you allow me the opportunity to try to help, I will not take the privilege for granted. I will give you my best.

There is life after this moment; let’s find it together.

Sincerely,

Christine Skow
